Traci and Carleton Brooks
Traci and Carleton Brooks have a lifetime of experience with horses, an extensive teaching and training background and a keen ability to match horses and riders and produce results. They share an appreciation and respect for horses, and in addition to their training skills they are also well known for their high standard of horse care and attention to detail.
Together they’ve trained and produced numerous National Champions such as Penn Square, Ragtime Cowboy, Triton Z, Wish List, Sleepwalk, Virtue and Corallie. They are also well known for bringing riders from beginners to National Champions. Together they have trained horses and riders to numerous championship at shows such as The Pennsylvania National Horse Show, The Washington International Horse Show, The National Horse Show, Devon, Junior Hunter Finals and International Derby Finals.
Carleton Brooks, best known as “CB”, is one of the most respected and recognized horsemen in the country. His successful career spans three decades coaching, judging, training, riding and competing. Whether training one of Balmoral’s many nationally ranked hunters, judging at National and International horse shows such as The Washington International, The Pennsylvania National, Devon, International Derby Finals, Junior Hunter Finals and the Royal Winter Fair as a USEF ‘R’ judge, or working with a wide variety of students and horses as a trainer and clinician, CB is a hands-on professional with an exemplary reputation.
Carleton operated Uphill Farm Inc., in Atherton California out of the Menlo Circus Club for 22 years, training and producing horses like Center Stage, Just For Fun, Vested, Corporate Profit, Buccelati, Sparring Partner, Trinity and Doubletake, to name a few.
Carleton has received many honor in the sport, including Leading Hunter Rider at The National Horse Show, a four-time winner of the Pacific Horse Shows Association Don Tipton Award, and the Arthur B. Hawkins Award for Excellence in Horse Sport.
Always willing to give back to the sport that has given them so much, Carleton and Traci continue to serve on numerous boards and committees. Traci is an active Board member of the USHJA National Hunter Derby Task Force and the Board of USEF Zone 10. Carleton served on the Board of The Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association for 11 years.
Lexi grew up riding as a working student for numerous respected West Coast trainers. These opportunities gave her exceptional experience in horse care, training, riding all types of horses and an appreciation for a high standard of horse care. Lexi went on to become a winning catch rider as a Junior in the Hunters and Equitation. In 2012, she was awarded top flat round score in the USET Finals.
At the conclusion of her successful Junior career, Lexi transitioned into the professional ranks, working for numerous respected California trainers and honing in on her skills as a show ring rider, trainer and manager.
