Success at Showpark Ranch & Coast

Jennifer Taylor Vin_Hoof_(826)_20150509_6205First of all - thanks to all the wonderful moms that spent their Mother's Day at the show!  Notables of the week were Balmoral's own High Road was Reserve Champion in the High Schooling Hunters at his first show ever.  Ali Markowitz' Kistler was Reserve Champion in the Low Working Hunters out of huge group of 40+ horses.  Teton Farms Y Wonder Y and Kaitlyn Van Konynenburg's Homestead we Champion and Reserve Champion respectively in the Regular Conformation.  Y Wonder Y was also Reserve Champion in the younger Large Juniors.  Kaitlyn's Wish List was Champion in the older Large Juniors, ...Read More »

Balmoral Riders Top WCHR National and Regional standings!

Kailtlyn Vankonynenburg Comissario_(114)_20150510_3038Kaitlyn Van Konynenburg and Grace Prochilo are leading the National WCHR standings (respectively) in the 3'6" Junior Hunters. Teton Farms tops the Southwest Regional ownership standings and is 2nd nationally. Ali Markowitz tops the Regional standings in the Children's Hunters. Carleton tops the Southwest Region for Professionals. (Pictured on the right is Kaitlyn and her horse Comissario).

Qualified for Devon!

Grace and IrasirKaitlyn Van Konynenburg's Triton Z, Comissario, Wish List, and her mom's horse Now How Z all qualified for the Junior Hunters at Devon. Grace Prochilo/Teton Farm's Irasir qualified in the Younger Small Juniors and their Y Wonder Y qualified in the Regular Conformation and their Pandora in the Second Year Greens. Ashley Kaplan's horse Once qualified in the Green Conformation. Balmoral's own Sable Road Qualified in the First Year Greens and Both Sable Road and Helix qualified in the Green Conformation! A Bittersweet Win for Chloe Karmin and Sin City

In his last show before being put up for sale by owner Chloe Karmin, Sin City took the 3'6"-3'9" performance hunter championship and won the Trip of the Show Award, which goes to the horse with the highest scoring round in all rated divisions, with Carleton Brooks in the irons. Junior Hunter Finals Success for Kelli Cruciotti

Kelli Cruciotti came home from Junior Hunter Finals with an armful of prizes. She clinched the small junior, 15 and under, championship with Kaitlyn Van Konynenburg’s Bayside. Both horses came to Cruciotti needing different rides, and the 14-year-old from Elizabeth, Colo., used her catch-riding experience to pilot them to smooth trips. Before finals, Cruciotti had never even sat on Targo (Nijinsky-Arnia), a 12-year-old Royal Dutch Warmblood, but with the help of trainers Traci Barmen Brooks and Carleton Brooks, the pair topped the handy and classic rounds. Brooks Leads a Barn of Winners

Carleton Brooks knew he had a group of phenomenal horses headed into the HITS Desert Circuit, and how he has the tricolors to prove it. During Desert Circuit II held Feb. 7-12, Brooks rode Twinkle Gorman's Ragtime Cowboy to the green conformation championship, Chloe Karmin's Sin City to the 3'6"-3'9" performance hunter division tricolor and Jenny Van Konynenburg's Headlines to first in the 3'3" performance hunter division. The relatively recent marriage of Traci Barmen and Carleton Brooks was a celebration of passion on many levels, but most certainly on the equestrian front. Their nuptials resulted in the expansion of Balmoral Farm, named for the street that Traci grew up on and the name of her first horse business. He won two classes and the 3'6" Performance Hunters championship with Headlines (Jenny Van Konynenburg, owner), and he rode Portafina in her first show in the Pre-green Hunters to two firsts and the championship.
